Focus Group Transcript - Sustainable Education for Development: Forest Fire Pedagogy
Description
This dataset contains the condensated transcript of a 75-minute focus group interview conducted on November 5–6, 2024, as part of the "Fireproof the Future" project. The session involved 14 sustainability experts and educators from Turkey, Poland, and Italy. The primary objective of the focus group was to identify and evaluate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) methodologies specifically adapted for teaching forest fire prevention. The transcript includes discussions on baseline definitions of SD and ESD, current implementation challenges (e.g., eco-anxiety and administrative rigidity), and the evaluation of several theoretical frameworks including Communication for Development (C4D), John Dewey’s Principles, Bio-empathy, and Project-Based Learning (PBL). To protect participant privacy, all contributors are anonymized via alphanumeric codes.
