GEDE Workshop on Digital Objects Report

This is the report of the GEDE (Group of European Data Experts) workshop on Digital Objects that was held in Brussels at 26.9.2018. The concept of DOs was looked at from computer science and domain science point of views and the keynote was given by Robert Kahn who introduced the Digital Object Interface Protocol. With designing DOIP R. Kahn follows the same principles as he did decades ago when he designed TCP/IP together with V. Cerf: the protocol must be open and free to be used by anyone.
