LTER Zöbelboden, Austria, Meteorology, 2001-2011

Integrated Monitoring Manual. Air and soil meteorological parameters (abbreviation in column MEDIUM = AIR and SOIL, respectively) were recorded at the clearing area “Wildwiese” (abbreviation in column SCODE = 939, 922, 948-950), which is situated on a plateau (850–956 m a.s.l.) at the LTER Zöbelboden site, Austria. Mesoclimatic conditions were measured at a 40 m high measuring tower (SCODE = 917) in close vicinity to the clearing area. Both climate stations (SCODE = 917, 939) record air temperature (SUBST = TEMP), relative humidity (SUBST = HH), solar radiation (SUBST = SOL_G), wind speed (SUBST = WIV) and wind direction (SUBST = WID) at half-hourly intervals. Precipitation (SUBST = PREC) was additionally recorded at the climate station “Wildwiese”. UVB radiation (SUBST = SOL_UVB) and photosynthetically active radiation (SUBST = SOL_PAR) were measured at a subplot of the clearing area (SCODE = 922). Soil temperature (TEMP) was measured using temperature sensors at different soil depths at subplots 939, 948, 949 and 950 at the clearing area from September 2009 onwards.
