Description
Precipitation Chemistry of a Karst Watershed (Zöbelboden) from the year 2019, https://deims.org/8eda49e9-1f4e-4f3e-b58e-e0bb25dc32a6
Methods
Integrated Monitoring Manual. Precipitation samples were recorded at the clearing area “Wildwiese”, which is situated on a plateau (850–956 m a.s.l.) at the LTER Zöbelboden site, Austria. PC samples comprise bulk precipitation (abbreviation in column MEDIUM = BULK), wet deposition (MEDIUM = WET) and occult deposition (MEDIUM = CLOUD). Bulk precipitation was collected with five to ten bulk collectors (∅ = 0.2 m). From 1993 until January 2005, water samples of each five bulk collectors (SCODE = 903, 918) were pooled. From February 2005 onwards, samples of the ten bulk collectors were mixed to one composite sample (SCODE = 919). In the laboratory, weekly precipitation samples were analysed from the years 1993 to 1998, or mixed (volume weighted) and analysed biweekly (1998-2009) or every four weeks (since March 2009). Precipitation as rain and snow (MEDIUM = WET) was collected with atmospheric deposition samplers (SCODE = 902, 922, 964) from the year 1993 onwards. Occult deposition was collected with an automated cloud water collector from 2003 to 2011 (SCODE = 964).
