Description
The Social Insurance Entitlements Dataset is a dataset within the Social Policy Indicators (SPIN) database, the latter with the aim of getting a better view of the ways in which countries have organized their welfare state by analysing institutions as manifested in social policy legislation. SIED covers institutional structures of core social insurance programs (old age pensions, sickness benefits, unemployment benefits and work accident benefits) providing detailed information on citizens' rights and duties based on legislation related to these social insurance programs. It is a continuation of the Social Citizenship Indicator Program (SCIP), that was discontinued in 2013, and therefore covers the same social insurance programs and shares the same variable names.
