Description

Monthly time series of “hours a typical student must work to cover a fixed essentials basket,” constructed with the Work-to-Essentials Index (WTEI/SEAT) method.

Variables
- year (int): calendar year
- month (1–12, int): month
- msh_hours (float): Monthly Survival Hours (MSH)
- notes (string, optional): flags/revisions

Coverage: USA, 1990–2025.
Primary sources: BLS CPI components (basket cost) and CPS/OEWS wages (cohorts).
